<사랑! 용기! 연민!>은 뉴욕주 더치스 카운티에 있는 호젓한 컨트리 하우스에서 마음껏 웃고 사랑하며 어름 휴가를 보내는 여덟명의 게이 친구들에 관한 이야기이다.

테렌스 맥날리 작품으로 조 맨텔로 연출로 1994년 맨하탄 씨어터 클럽에서 올려졌으며, 후에 바터 케르 씨어터에서 1995년에 공연되었다.

어떤 작품보다 많은 상을 수상하고 여러 부문 후보에 오른 연극이며, 같은 연출로 1997년 영화화 되었다. 현대의 인간 관계에서 사랑은 흔히 강조되지만 용기와 동정은 쉽게 간과된다는 주제를 가지고 있는 작품이다.
