<Movin’ Out>은 빌리조엘 음악으로 만든 주크박스 댄스 뮤지컬이다.

일반적인 뮤지컬의 형식과는 다르게, 간결한 플롯을 포함한 춤의 공연으로 만들어짐. 댄서들은 노래를 부르지 않고, 록 발레 형태의 춤과 나레이션으로 공연을 이끌어 나가고 모든 노래는 무대 상단의 플랫폼에 밴드들과 함께 있는 보컬이 피아노를 치며 노래를 부른다.

1960년대 롱아일랜드의 한 고등학교 졸업파티.

파티의 킹과 퀸으로 봅힌 에디와 브랜다는 졸업과 함께 이별을 맞이하지만, 또 다른 커플인 제임스와 주디는 막 결혼을 하려고 한다. 그리고 토니는 진정한 사랑을 찾고자 노력하다 브렌다와 사랑에 빠진다. 갑작스런 전쟁의 베트남 전쟁의 발발로 청년들은 전장지를 향해 떠나고, 제임스는 전쟁에서 목숨을 잃는다. 고향으로 돌아온 토니와 에디는 전쟁의 후유증으로 토니는 브렌다와의 관계를 회복하는데 어려움을 겪고, 에디는 대인기피증에 시달린다. 그러나 주디의 도움으로 에디는 회복하게 되고, 브렌다와 토니도 서로의 사랑을 되찾게 된다. 네 사람은 삶을 개척하는 또 다른 시작을 맞이한다.
